The first House-Museum of Jadidism was opened in Bukhara region.
The son of Usman Khoja (Usmon Khoja Pulatkhojayev) had to leave his homeland – Bukhara in 1922. In 1937, after the execution of Ataulla Khoja ugli’s younger brother, half of their house in Bukhara became a building for the prosecutor’s office and the other half – for a pre-trial detention center. And so it was until the end of 1991.

In 1992, after independence, the house was sold to an entrepreneur. At the initiative of the Agency for Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, talks were held with the owner of this house. An agreement was signed, according to which a House-Museum of Jadidism, a library, and a research center of Usman Khoja ugli will be created here.

– I want to express my deep gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Art and Culture Development Foundation, two entrepreneurs who did not want to announce their names, a Samarkand businessman who agreed to resell his property to the state, the Uzbek intelligentsia and journalists involved in the resolution of this issue, – says Turkic scholar Temur Khoja. – An age-old dream has come true.
