Tashkent’s population exceeds 3 million people
According to the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as of October 1, 2023, the number of citizens permanently residing in Tashkent amounted to 3 million 20 thousand 5 people.
Of these, 1,481,009 are men and 1,538,006 are women.
It is noted that the capital’s population first exceeded 1 million in 1960. In 1985, the population of Tashkent increased to more than 2 million people.
Today, the total number of people living, studying, and working in the capital of the country is 5 million people.
