On 15-23 August 2021, Tashkent will host an International Chess Tournament dedicated to the memory of the first grandmaster of Uzbekistan Georgy Agzamov.

On August 16, the official opening ceremony of the tournament will take place at the International Chess Academy in Tashkent. It is expected that the tournament will be attended by the 17th World Champion Rustam Kasymjanov.

About 150 chess players and judges from 12 countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Afghanistan, Iran, Palestine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Belarus and Uzbekistan will take part in the chess tournament dedicated to the memory of Georgy Agzamov.

Chess players with a rating of 1800 and higher will play in group “A”, and participants with a rating below 1800 will play in group “B”. The total prize fund of the tournament is $25 thousand.

Participants will compete for the titles of International Grandmaster, Master of Sports of International Class and FIDE Master.
