Tashkent to host CESS Regional Conference
Central Eurasian Studies Society (CESS) will hold the 7th Regional Conference in Uzbekistan.
According to the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the United States, one of the largest international associations of scientists specializing in integrated study of the Eurasian region, the Central Eurasian Studies Society (CESS), will hold the 7th Regional Conference in Uzbekistan.
The agreement to hold this conference was reached during the meeting of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States, Javlon Vakhabov, with the Director of the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies Marlene Laruelle.
The CESS Regional Conference, held every two years at the top universities in the region, attracts leading world scientists in economics, political science, history and anthropology, jurisprudence, and sociology.
The main conference venue this year will be the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. The event, scheduled for June 25-28, 2020, is projected to bring together more than 300-350 experts in Central Asia, researchers from leading think tanks, political strategists and business analysts from the United State, Europe, Russia, Japan, South Korea, India, Pakistan and other countries.
Roundtable discussions and workshops will be held within the framework of the conference, during which Uzbekistan scientists will exchange views on important issues of investment in Central Asia, strengthening interconnectedness, integration development, and introducing successful models of regional cooperation.
It is planned to present the book “The Rise and Fall of Khoqand in 1709-1876: Central Asia in the Global Age”, published in 2017, authored by the Director of the Department of History of the Ohio State University, Scott Levi.
