Tashkent hosted the Voice Ai Challenge Uzbekistan hackathon dedicated to the development of technical solutions in the Uzbek language.
The event was organized by the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications in cooperation with the IT Park, UNDP in Uzbekistan, Inha University in Tashkent, Research Institute for the Development of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence, as well as, KASH APP Company.
Over 100 participants took part in the hackathon, divided into more than 30 teams. For three days, based on data in Uzbek, they developed applications, bots and other software products.
The teams presented their achievements to the jury. Winners received valuable prizes from the organizers.
Hackathon allowed forming the voice base necessary for teaching the Uzbek language to artificial intelligence. More than 304 hours of audio recordings were collected on the Mozilla Common Voice platform, which are 207 thousand phrases and sentences. All this will improve the recognition of Uzbek speech by programs.
