
The 150th IPU Assembly is currently underway in Tashkent.
The First Plenary Session of the Assembly on “Parliamentary movement for social progress and justice” took place in Tashkent.

The President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Tulia Ackson, who emphasized the need for the active participation of parliaments as a crucial political institution in restoring social balance and ensuring stability and justice on a global scale, took part in the meeting.

The Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, was invited to the podium as the President of the Assembly. She noted Uzbekistan’s ongoing social reforms and large-scale initiatives to improve the social protection system and called on all delegations to engage in an open dialogue.

It was noted that the exchange of views within the framework of the Assembly will lead to the development of new practical proposals and recommendations that will serve to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation based on the final documents.
