Tashkent hosts the Al Beruniy Second International Tournament with a prize fund of $68,700.

The prestigious tournament, which started today, is held in three groups. The Masters group consists of 6 foreign and 4 Uzbek chess players with a rating of 2600 or higher. In the Masters group, Vladislav Artemiev and the current rapid champion Volodar Murzin, competing under the FIDE flag, Haik Martirosyan and Shant Sargsyan from Armenia, as well as our young grandmasters Abdumalik Abdusalimov, Mukhiddin Madaminov, Ortiq Nigmatov and two-time world youth champion Afruza Hamdamova are competing for the victory.

6 foreign chess players will participate in the Challenger group (with a rating of 2500) and Futures (with a rating of 2400 and above).

The competition, to be held in a round-robin system of 9 rounds, will run until February 12.
