The results of 6th International Seminar of the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission on “Importance of promoting and protecting the rights of youth for building peaceful and democratic societies and sustainable development” were summarized at a special briefing.

The briefing was chaired by Akmal Saidov, Chairperson of the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission.

At the event, Executive Director of the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission Marghoob Saleem Butt and others informed the media about the results of Tashkent Forum.

The two-day seminar was attended by nearly 150 people. Reports of five international and national experts were heard at the plenary session. The debate was attended by 15 members of the OIC Commission, more than 10 representatives of OIC member states and civil society institutions.

Participants of the international seminar adopted the final document – the Tashkent Declaration on the Rights of Youth of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Six newly elected members of the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission – the United Arab Emirates, Gabon, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Uganda and Kuwait took the oath.

A Memorandum on expansion of cooperation between the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Turkey was signed.
