Uzbekistan holds Anti-Corruption Week on the occasion of December 9, the International Anti-Corruption Day.

The Tashkent Forum on Anti-Corruption and Transparency was held within the framework of the week. The event was attended by the heads of the anti-corruption bodies of Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, China, Georgia, Slovenia, representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations, foreign experts, representatives of more than a hundred ministries and agencies, civil society institutions, and the media.

The nature and characteristics of anti-corruption measures in different countries were discussed at the forum. The results of anti-corruption reforms in Uzbekistan were presented to the attention of the international community. The event became a platform for the exchange of views between national and foreign experts, government bodies, civil society institutions and the media in the field of combating and preventing corruption.

Information was provided on measures to prevent corruption in public administration, in particular, on the mechanisms for introducing a compliance control system to combat corruption in government bodies. The participants exchanged views on methods of preventing conflicts of interest, declaring and regulating property, the practice of involving civil society institutions and the media in anti-corruption expertise of regulations and their projects, various approaches and practices of using research results in preventing corruption.

The participants paid special attention to the specifics of international cooperation in the field of combating corruption and its prospects, improving the legal and institutional framework for combating corruption, promoting the implementation of anti-corruption reforms in Uzbekistan.

At the event, the first issue of the Uzbekistan Anti-Corruption Digest magazine was presented. It is published to inform the international community about the anti-corruption reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan.

Following the forum, proposals and recommendations were prepared for the development of an effective policy for the implementation of measures to combat and prevent corruption, as well as assess and improve the effectiveness of these measures.
