July 2 – Day of Adoption of the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On this day, 33 years ago, the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted.

The identity, unity, and uniqueness of every nation are reflected in its symbols, including the emblem.

The State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a sacred and blessed symbol for every compatriot who ties their destiny and future to the Motherland.

The emblem incorporates symbols and images that are uniquely characteristic of Uzbekistan.

The uniqueness of the emblem evokes a sense of pride in the heart of every citizen of the country. The State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan features a rising sun over mountains and rivers, surrounded by a wreath of wheat ears and open cotton bolls.

At the top of the emblem is an octagon containing a crescent and a star. In the center, there is the image of a Humo bird with outstretched wings, symbolizing happiness and love of freedom. At the bottom of the emblem, on a ribbon in the colors of the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is the inscription “O‘zbekiston”.

The Humo bird and the rivers on the emblem are depicted in silver, the sun, wheat ears, cotton bolls, and the inscription “O‘zbekiston” are in gold, the cotton branches and leaves, mountains, and valleys are in green, and the cotton within the bolls is white. The ribbon features the three colors of the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The octagon is sky blue with a gold border, and the crescent and stars are shown in white.

The emblem is not merely an artistic depiction. It reflects the glorious and arduous path of our history, the unique traditions and values, the aspirations and hopes of our people for renewal, as well as the goals of our hardworking, generous, and compassionate compatriots.

According to the legislation, the image of the emblem is displayed on the facades of buildings housing the residence of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, the Cabinet of Ministers, republican government agencies, the State Security Service, the National Guard, and other state institutions.

The State Emblem is also displayed on the buildings of the diplomatic corps and offices of international organizations in the country, notarial institutions, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, notarial archives of the justice departments of Tashkent city and the regions, as well as on border markers, official seals and letterheads, passports, ID cards, and diplomatic passports of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as ID cards of foreign citizens and stateless persons permanently residing in Uzbekistan, civil registration certificates, and national banknotes.

Thanks to the emblem, the whole world recognizes Uzbekistan as a country confidently moving along the path of renewal and progress, and acknowledges its achievements.
