Space exploration is developing at a rapid pace.
Uzbekistan is also carrying out consistent reforms to train personnel in this area. Significant tasks in space research have been set for the Uzbekspace Agency for Space Research and Technology.
The Agency of Information and Mass Communications hosted a press conference organized by Uzbekspace Agency.
It was noted that the number of ministries and agencies that consume satellite images and processed data exceeded 15.
“More than 20 projects have been implemented, and over 10 geoplatforms have been created”, says Mukhiddin Ibragimov, Department Head at the Uzbekspace Agency. “By processing 726,000 square kilometers of space images, state space monitoring was carried out in geology, ecology, agriculture, forestry and water management, as well as seismology”.
As part of the development of international cooperation, on April 25, 2023, the second meeting of the heads of space agencies of member countries of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Tashkent. With the participation of representatives of more than 250 space corporations, agencies, and committees from 30 countries, the Space Technology Conference STC-2023 was organized.
At the 74th International Astronautical Congress in Baku, the Uzbekspace Agency became a member of the International Astronautical Federation.
Last October, another joint hackathon, NASA Space Apps, was held in Tashkent with NASA. Two students were sent to the state universities of Colorado Boulder and Iowa to study at the expense of the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation.
A Space Camp will be organized for school students in Uzbekistan to increase the interest of the younger generation in the space sector.
