Solidarity, mutual trust, and cooperation among Asian countries are essential for ensuring progress
Uzbekistan delegation, led by Sodiq Safoyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, participated in the international conference “A shared future, a new chapter for Asia: building a community with a shared future for Asian countries”, held in Beijing.
The event gathered over 200 participants, including political and public figures from different countries, heads of Chinese ministries and agencies, and diplomatic representatives.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Safoyev briefly outlined the key areas, goals, and objectives of the reforms to build New Uzbekistan. He also emphasized the recent development of a close, neighborly, and cooperative atmosphere in Central Asia. Additionally, he proposed ideas to promote peace and friendship across Asia.
Participants highlighted the need to reinforce solidarity, trust, and collaboration among Asian nations to achieve common progress and prosperity.
The conference included meetings with leaders from various foreign delegations. Notably, in a discussion with Wang Dongming, Vice Chairperson of China’s Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the dialogue focused on strengthening interparliamentary cooperation and advancing the objectives outlined by both nations’ leaders. They also explored the potential for arranging a visit by a delegation from the National People’s Congress to Uzbekistan.
During the discussions, it was noted that relations between Uzbekistan and China have advanced significantly in recent years. Wang Dongming specifically highlighted the crucial influence of the leaders of both countries in this development.
During meetings with Gao Xiang, President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Gao Song, President of Peking University, and Li Luming, President of Tsinghua University, the participants discussed ways to deepen collaboration between the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and China’s top higher education and research institutions. They also explored new, promising areas for cooperation.
