A Korean delegation, including representatives from Gyeongbuk Technopark (GBTP) and Halla University, visited the headquarters of the IT Park Uzbekistan.

Discussions were held on cooperation formats in production digitalization, personnel training, and the creation of joint service solutions.

During the negotiations, IT Park’s Director of Export Service Development, Makhliyo Mukhsinova, introduced the foreign specialists to the ecosystem and spoke about the support provided to resident companies working in global markets.

The Korean delegation shared plans to launch the Smart Factory project in Fergana Region with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy of the Republic of Korea. The future project envisions the transformation of a manufacturing enterprise with a focus on digital technologies. One of the key areas of dialogue was the possibility of establishing a service center in Uzbekistan that would contribute to developing digital solutions and providing technological support for the project.

IT Park proposed hosting the service component in Uzbekistan and involving its resident companies with the necessary expertise. GBTP representatives expressed interest in this approach, noting that they plan to delegate part of the tasks to the Uzbek partner and, in the future, use it as an outsourcing center to deliver IT services from Uzbekistan to Korea.

The parties also discussed opportunities for joint training programs, experience exchange, and developing specific solutions in both B2B and B2G formats. One of the following steps will be for GBTP to receive a concept note describing the key areas of cooperation. IT Park will be the coordinator for selecting and engaging suitable resident companies.
