With over twenty significant events, a 50% increase in visitors, global awards, and a commitment to eco-friendly energy, the Silk Road Samarkand Tourist Complex has solidified its status as a one-of-a-kind destination.
Over the past years, the complex has strengthened its position as a hub for international events, while also expanding its tourism and cultural infrastructure.
More than 150,000 guests, including high-profile officials, have participated in key events hosted at the venue, including the 14th CMS COP14 Convention, the 120th FIA General Assembly, the Canoe Sprint World Championships, and the 9th Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

In 2024, the total number of visitors to the complex exceeded 80,000, with guests staying in eight hotels located within the complex. This surge reflects strong interest from tourists from Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, and the European Union.
Silk Road Samarkand has received several prestigious international awards, serving as an additional motivation for its ongoing growth and development.
Last year, the Eternal City Ethnographic Park introduced another major attraction – the Museum of the Quran, further enriching Samarkand’s cultural and historical appeal. Additionally, the launch of Waterland, a family-friendly water park, has significantly contributed to the growth of domestic tourism.
A newly launched solar power plant near the complex has created a self-sustaining energy ecosystem aligned with sustainable development standards. Moreover, solar panels and Smart Room systems have been introduced to enhance energy efficiency and reduce overall consumption.

The complex has also been ISO-certified, underscoring its adherence to international quality standards and its commitment to sustainability goals.
In 2025, Silk Road Samarkand aims to enhance its reputation as a leading tourism hub in the region. One of the most anticipated events will be hosting the 43rd UNESCO Session, a significant global gathering. Additionally, plans are in place for the modernization of hotels such as Savitsky Plaza, Wellness Park Hotel Turon, and Sogd, as well as the expansion of the bio-lake and exhibition center.
Beyond strengthening Uzbekistan’s position on the global tourism map, Silk Road Samarkand is set to create new opportunities for cultural and business collaboration.
