The opening ceremony of the Global Media Forum on “New Media in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution” took place in the city of Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan.
At the forum, held in connection with the 148th Anniversary of the National Press of Azerbaijan by order of the President of the country, Ilham Aliyev addressed the event. President Ilham Aliyev answered the questions of the participants. The question and answer session lasted about three hours. In his speech, the country’s Leader expressed confidence that the guests would return to their countries with excellent impressions and results. The Head of state proposed to hold the event regularly, calling it the First Shusha Global Media Forum.
It was attended by 150 foreign journalists from 49 countries, including state news agencies of 34 countries, 12 international organizations, and media, among which a representative of Uzbekistan National News Agency – UzA. Shusha also gathered 60 leaders and representatives of local media.
As part of the forum, it is planned to discuss globally essential issues in the media, information, and communication. Well-known and influential world media leaders, experts will discuss new tools in journalism, communications in the digital age, digital transformation, media management in the modern information environment and the creation of sustainable media business models, consumer trends in new media and media literacy, methods of combating disinformation and fake news, the safety of journalists and many other issues.
The initiative “Media Platform of the Non-Aligned Movement” will be launched.
The forum will end its work on July 23.
