The 5th International Exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia” continues its work in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

One of the exhibition’s most prominent participants is the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, which presents technological solutions in nuclear energy and electric mobility.

Among its displays is a standard land-based small modular nuclear power plant model based on the Russian-designed RITM-200N reactors. This proven technology has demonstrated reliability and efficiency on nuclear icebreakers in Russia. Six reactors will be installed at Uzbekistan’s upcoming small modular reactors (SMRs).

In green energy, Rosatom is also showcasing a lithium-ion battery – an essential component of electric vehicles – and a sample of a compact slow charging station.

According to the information provided, Rosatom enterprises can manufacture approximately 60% of all components required for electric vehicles, including battery packs, electric motors, rare-earth metal magnets, microelectronic components, and polymer and composite materials. Two gigafactories are currently under construction for energy storage production, which will be able to supply batteries for 100,000 electric vehicles annually. Additionally, the state corporation has been responsible for developing charging hubs and a nationwide network of electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS).

“Uzbekistan is a key partner for Rosatom in several cooperation areas”, Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev noted. “The contract signed in May last year for constructing a small modular nuclear power plant in Jizzakh Region – based on a Russian design with a total capacity of 330 MW – became the world’s first export contract for an SMR project. This is evidence of Uzbekistan’s leadership in advancing low-carbon technologies and the strong, trust-based relationship between our countries and peoples”.
