As previously reported, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addresses the Parliament on the results of the main activities carried out in 2019 and the priority areas of socio-economic development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2020.

The Head of the state noted that a democratic situation has formed in the country thanks to the elections held in 2019 under the slogan “New Uzbekistan – New Elections”.

He also emphasized that increasing the political activity of parties is and remains an urgent task. At the same time, it is necessary to further optimize the three-stage system of elections to local Councils, while increasing the role of district and city commissions.

“I want to appeal to all deputies and senators, and in their person to the whole people of Uzbekistan, democratic reforms are the only and the surest way for us”, the President said.
