To familiarize the broader public with the ecotourism potential of Navoi region and to support sustainable tourism development in the area, a press tour was organized for foreign and local media representatives to the tourist village of Sentob in Nurata district.
Representatives of the Italian TV channel “Rai-3”, national and local media, and bloggers took part in the tour. They visited ecotourism facilities in the village of Sentob, learned about sustainable development initiatives, admired the village’s picturesque nature, its historical monuments, and the local population’s customs and traditions, as well as traditional handicrafts.
Navoi region, known for its rich history, unique traditions, historical monuments, and scenic landscapes, has long attracted tourists.
As in all regions of the country, special attention is paid to the development of the tourism sector in Navoi region. The region has favorable conditions and opportunities for tourism. This is evidenced by the significant increase in the number of foreign tourists visiting the region in recent years.
In 2023, the village of Sentob in Nurata district received the status of a “Tourist Village” and was included on the list of the world’s best tourist villages. In 2024, the Langar mahalla of Khatirchi district was granted the status of a “Tourist Mahalla”. In addition, practical work is currently underway to obtain a similar status for the Chuya mahalla in Nurata district and the Angidon mahalla in Khatirchi district.
In recent years, many representatives of foreign media have visited the region and prepared a series of video materials about the vast opportunities of this unique area and its picturesque nature.
Italian journalists who visited the village of Sentob were captivated by its beauty and the hospitality of the residents. They described this place as a paradise corner surrounded by the Nurata Mountains.
