A session of the Council of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place on 9 March 2016.

The Council adopted a resolution to convene the fifth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis on 31 March 2016 in Tashkent. 

Several draft laws, directed towards steady reforms and liberalization of all spheres of socio-political and socio-economic life of the country, including the laws “On parliamentary oversight”, “On accounting” (new edition), on amending some legislative acts, reports of some agencies and institutions of the country, as well as the members of the Commission of the Senate on oversight over prosecution bodies will be considered at the plenary session of the Senate.

Other issues under the competence of the Council of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis also were discussed at the session.

Relevant decisions on all discussed issues were adopted.
