The delegation, led by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, is visiting Geneva to participate in the 149th Assembly of the IPU.

During the visit, Ms. Tanzila Narbayeva met with the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Tulia Ackson.

At the meeting, attention was focused on the effectiveness of the work carried out jointly with the Inter-Parliamentary Union and long-term plans.

During the conversation, Ms. Tulia Ackson particularly noted Uzbekistan’s economic development in recent years, the improvement of the social protection system, and reforms to ensure the priority of human rights.

The program, plans, and new projects of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which will be held in Uzbekistan for the first time in Central Asia’s history, were discussed.
