A concert titled “Sands of Time” was held on the stage of the Tatar State Academic Theatre in Kazan.

Under the direction of maestro Alibek Kabdurakhmanov, the Uzbekistan National Symphony Orchestra and the internationally acclaimed Richter Trio created a distinctive artistic harmony throughout the evening.

The concert was organized in collaboration with the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The “Sands of Time” initiative is a musical project that promotes reflection on art and history, interpreting time and cultural perception through contemporary music, and has gained international recognition since its 2023 debut in Berlin and its touring of major cultural centers worldwide.

The Kazan performance featured an expanded program in choral form, with the Uzbekistan State Philharmonic Choir enriching the orchestra’s sound and deepening the musical texture, underscoring cultural collaboration.

“The choir imparted a monumental spirit to the composition, intensifying its emotional power and creating a multi-layered symphonic impression”, said Alibek Kabdurakhmanov. “At moments, the music reflects the waves of historical scenes, at others, it artistically interprets layers of time within human memory, drawing the listener closer to a cinematic experience”.

“The conductor’s approach to working with the orchestra, his ability to perceive every detail with precision, and his interpretive culture were once again evident in the program”, said the Minister of Culture of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova. “He deeply sensed the orchestra’s shifting dynamics and the balance between subtlety and drama in Richter’s music, elevating the performance to a new artistic level”.

It should be noted that in recent years, the Art and Culture Development Foundation has been actively working to bring national music, historical heritage, and contemporary creative directions to the global stage. “Sands of Time” represents an important milestone in this broader process.

Thus, the “Sands of Time” concert became not only a highly artistic presentation but also a memorable event that signifies a new stage in cultural dialogue and artistic recognition.
