On 5-6 December 2022, Samarkand will host a Global Forum “Human Rights Education”. The initiative to hold this prestigious international conference was made by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the 46th Session of the UN Human Rights Council.

According to the National Center for Human Rights of Uzbekistan, the forum aims to summarize the interim results of the implementation of the UN Declaration on Human Rights Education and the UN World Programme for Human Rights Education.

It is also planned to organize a presentation of best practices and innovative approaches in this area, exchange views and develop recommendations for improving the system of education.

The forum will allow a wider audience from around the world, experts in this field, specialists of government agencies, specialized education institutions, representatives of non-governmental non-profit organizations and other civil society institutions to participate in virtual discussion sessions. Intensive preparations for the global forum are currently underway.
