Uzbekistan hosts many festivals that help improve the image of Uzbekistan on a global scale. The International Music Festival “Sharq Taronalari” occupies a special place among them.

Founded in 1997 on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, it is designed to glorify and develop the national musical art, promote achievements in this field, create more significant opportunities for professional musicians to exchange ideas and experiences, and strengthen the love and interest of young people in music.

The festival is regularly held in Samarkand, a city that has long been considered a crossroads of cultures. Once every two years, the most talented singers, dancers, and musicians from around the world come here. “Sharq Taronalari” is included in the UNESCO list of international cultural events and attracts those who want to learn more about Uzbekistan and its heritage.

Representatives from more than 30 countries took part in the first International Music Festival “Sharq Taronalari”, and again Samarkand, once one of the main stops on the Great Silk Road, became the center of world culture.

The project can involve professional and amateur creative groups, as well as solo performers. The program covers folk music, traditional classical music, modern music, and pop music. A competition “For the best performance of a national song”, a scientific and creative conference, and a gala concert with the participation of masters of art from Uzbekistan and abroad are planned.

This year, the International Music Festival “Sharq Taronalari” in Samarkand will be held for the 13th time from August 25 to 30, and intensive preparations for this event are already underway. Invitations were sent to representatives of more than 100 states.
