Samarkand hosts Valdai Discussion Club’s Conference
The X Asian Conference of the Valdai Discussion Club has kicked off in Samarkand.
The X Asian Conference of the Valdai Discussion Club, organized in partnership with the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has kicked off in Samarkand.
The event is attended by more than 80 experts from 11 countries, including Russia, China, Germany, Japan, Sweden, India, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
On the first day of the conference, experts’ meeting will be held within the framework of Uzbekistan – Russia special session, devoted to consideration of prospects for development of long-term relations between the two countries.
A bilateral meeting was held before the meeting between the Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Eldor Aripov and Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club Andrei Bystritsky.
The parties agreed on cooperation, increasing the intensity of contacts in research of international and regional process.
Representatives of intellectual circles from Uzbekistan will regularly attend meetings of the Valdai Discussion Club, as well as jointly organize subsequent targeted projects.
Following the talks, an Agreement on Cooperation between the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies and the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club was signed.
