Samarkand hosts the Congress of the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World, which is dedicated to urban development in the Turkic world.

Representatives of the Union’s member states, Uzbekistan builders and architects, and scholars in this field, are participating in the event. 

At the opening of the congress, speeches were delivered by the Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sh. Khidoyatov, and the Acting Hokim of Samarkand region, A. Boboyev.

The congress continued its work through various sessions, including “Samarkand – the Center of Turkic World Civilization”, “Tourism and Cultural Heritage in the Turkic World”, “Unity of Language, Thought, and Creativity”, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Mahmudkhoja Behbudi’s birth”, and “Global Climate Change: Prospects for the Aral Sea”. Representatives of the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World and scholars and experts from Uzbekistan delivered reports and presentations. 

As part of the event, Acting Hokim of Samarkand region Mr. Boboyev met with the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, Binali Yıldırım. 

Congress participants are also scheduled to visit historical and cultural monuments and modern buildings and structures in Samarkand.
