Experts from the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies analyzed the export of fruits and vegetables of Uzbekistan for January-September 2023.

During this period, 1,337.9 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables were exported to foreign countries for $831 million. The growth rate in value terms compared to the same period in 2022 amounted to 9.3 percent.

The largest share in the export of fruits and vegetables was occupied by peaches (nectarines) – 8.1%, fresh grapes – 7.7%, onions – 6.4%, cherries – 6.4%, raisins – 5.7%, apricots – 4,9%, melons and watermelons – 4.7%, tomatoes – 4.2%.

In January-September, the share of fruits and vegetables in total exports amounted to 4.7 percent.

During this period, the main export markets for Uzbekistan’s fruits and vegetables were Russia (41.9%), Pakistan (15.1%), Kazakhstan (12.2%), China (8.4%), Kyrgyzstan (8%), Turkey (2.4%), Belarus (1.6%), Afghanistan (1.4%), Iran (1%), Iraq (0.9%).
