A festive event dedicated to India’s Republic Day was held in Tashkent.
The event, organized by the Embassy of India in Uzbekistan, was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, business representatives, and the general public.
As noted by Ms. Smita Pant, Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan, the Constitution adopted on January 26, 1950, laid the foundation for an inclusive and democratic state, becoming the basis for India’s growth and socio-economic development.

The Ambassador highlighted that the historical and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and India are a foundation for strengthening the friendship between the two nations and fostering multifaceted cooperation.

At the event, it was noted that the Embassy of India actively supports business delegation exchanges. In particular, last year, representatives from Uzbekistan participated in various industry exhibitions in India, covering sectors such as textiles, agriculture, healthcare, metallurgy, electronics, and handicrafts. Similarly, Indian representatives participated in Tashkent forums in tourism, oil and gas, energy, textile production, and healthcare. All these initiatives are a result of coordinated efforts between the two countries.
Uzbek and Indian songs and melodies, included in the event’s program, added to the festive atmosphere, making the celebration even more joyful for participants.
