Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov met with renowned British economist Andy Haldane, a member of the UK Government’s Economic Advisory Council and Chief Executive of the Royal Society of Arts.

At the meeting, the British side was given a detailed overview of the large-scale reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan, as well as the country’s achievements in political, economic, social, and cultural spheres in recent years. 

Andy Haldane highly praised the wide-ranging socio-economic reforms taking place in Uzbekistan, including measures to develop the creative industry, and expressed his willingness to contribute to these processes as an international expert. 

The parties discussed prospects for further strengthening ties between research institutions in both countries and the implementation of joint scientific projects. 

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to maintain regular practical contacts on the aforementioned issues.
