Tashkent hosts an international workshop for kurash trainers with the participation of over 45 specialists from 18 countries.

One of the priority tasks in ensuring the implementation of the resolution of the Head of state “On measures to develop and further increase the international authority of the national sport of kurash”, training professional coaches, judges, and kurash instructors, and improving their qualifications, is the systematic organization of international workshops.

Four months ago, in collaboration with the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports and the International Institute of Kurash, three-month online courses were organized with the participation of specialists in this type of wrestling from Brazil, Congo, Cameroon, the United Kingdom, the United States, Iran, India, Indonesia, Russia, Switzerland, Haiti, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

Classes organized at the capital’s Sagbon Sports Complex and the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports were a logical continuation of these events.

The conference participants noted the popularization of kurash, its inclusion in the program of the Asian Games, which have the status of a “small Olympics”, the organization of federations in almost 139 countries of the world, the holding of competitions and championships are the result of the special attention Uzbekistan pays to the development of national wrestling. In 2024, 48 kurash events will be held in different countries.
