
Director of the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Behzod Musayev and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Olimjon Abdullayev met with the Director General of Hamad Medical Corporation, Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Mohammed Al Suwaidi, in Qatar.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Qatar Ashraf Khojayev also took part in the negotiations.
Hamad Medical Corporation unites 15 hospitals of various profiles, employing over 35,000 employees, including 12,000 nurses. They annually serve over 3 million patients from Qatar and other countries in the region.
During the negotiations, the Director General of Hamad Medical Corporation stressed that Uzbekistan, being a strategic partner of Qatar and a country with great potential for human resources, is of great interest in establishing long-term cooperation to meet the growing staffing needs of the country’s healthcare system.
The Uzbek side, in turn, informed about the activities of the Migration Agency and the mechanisms of external labor migration in the country, successful models of cooperation with international partners.
Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the creation of a joint working group that will ensure the solution of the entire range of issues related to the selection of promising medical personnel: their professional and language training, work visas, arrival in Doha, and decent living and working conditions in HMC hospitals.
The meeting resulted from the active involvement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the country’s diplomatic missions abroad in assisting the Migration Agency in the employment of Uzbekistan citizens in other countries.
