Tashkent hosted a roundtable discussion with the participation of representatives of more than 40 large companies from Uzbekistan and Qatar.

The Uzbek side stressed that the development of trade-economic and investment cooperation is showing positive momentum. Large Qatari companies are successfully implementing investment projects in Uzbekistan in areas such as energy, road infrastructure, logistics, and tourism.

At the same time, it was noted that there is a huge untapped potential for increasing the number of joint projects in priority sectors of the economy. These sectors include agriculture, food, textiles, mining and metallurgy, energy and petrochemical, medical and pharmaceutical industries, transport and logistics, and a large-scale privatization program. At the same time, the need to promote new initiatives was noted.

The Qatari side highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s efforts to create favorable working conditions for investors and expressed its readiness to actively cooperate on all discussed projects.

Following the event, an agreement was signed on the opening of a Representative Office of Qatar Dynasty Jet in Uzbekistan, as well as an agreement between Qatar’s Al Mai Trading, High Com Global Trading, and Uzbekistan’s Millmax Trading and Turan As on the establishment of exports of agricultural and food products.
