At the second plenary session of the Central Asian Youth Forum, international, regional, and national tools and mechanisms for promoting and protecting youth rights were considered.
According to the National Human Rights Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan, this session was moderated by UNDP Resident Representative a.i. in Uzbekistan Anas Fayyad Qarman, and Abdulaziz Muminov, Deputy Chairman of the Central Council of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan.
The participants focused on the importance of existing international and regional documents and mechanisms for protecting and promoting youth rights. The established standards of protection of youth rights in global and regional documents were thoroughly discussed.
Lectures were followed by lively discussions and debates. According to the participants, several advanced tools and standards adopted in developing the youth rights protection system have essential places in the world. Most of these tools and standards were adopted within the framework of the UN, and in the next 30 years, the number of international documents in youth rights protection exceeded 10.
Forum participants conducted an impartial analysis of the application of international and regional instruments and mechanisms for protecting and promoting youth rights. Views were exchanged on improving the effectiveness of mechanisms for protecting youth rights and opportunities.
It was also emphasized that it is necessary to increase awareness and understanding of society about the importance of protecting the rights of young people and to promote and support policies and legislation aimed at protecting the rights of young people. Particular attention was paid to studying best practices and effective mechanisms for protecting youth rights.
The Central Asian Youth Forum is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 30th anniversary of the Vienna World Conference on Human Rights.
