The 10th session of the Intergovernmental Uzbekistan – Hungary Commission on Economic Cooperation took place in Budapest.

The Uzbekistan delegation was led by Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, while the Hungarian side was led by Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.

The parties discussed current issues related to strengthening trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint projects in industry, transport, agriculture, science, and education, and the further enhancement of business ties between enterprises of both countries.

Following the meeting, the parties signed a Protocol of the Intergovernmental Uzbekistan – Hungary Commission, formalizing the agreements reached and outlining priority areas for future cooperation.

Additionally, within the framework of the official program, two significant documents were signed: a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary on cooperation under the “Stipendium Hungaricum” program for 2024-2026, and a Memorandum of Understanding between Uzbekistan’s Basalt Group and Hungary’s energy company MOL, aimed at developing industrial cooperation and applying innovative solutions in production.

The event concluded with an Uzbekistan – Hungary Business Forum, attended by representatives of leading companies from both countries, during which prospects for expanding business partnerships and implementing joint projects were discussed.
