Today, Tashkent hosted an international roundtable discussion on “Prospects for economic cooperation: a perspective from think tanks in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan”, dedicated to strengthening scientific cooperation and exchange between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, organized by the Center for Economic Research and Reforms under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek side was represented at the event by experts from the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, representatives of the ministries of transport, higher education, science and innovation, economy and finance, agriculture, investment, industry and trade, digital technologies, etc.

The participants of the event were greeted by the Director of the Center Obid Hakimov and the Chairman of the Board of the Economic Scientific Research Institute under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation Shahin Sadigov.

The main goal of the event was to discuss the integration of knowledge and analysis of economic development opportunities in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, consider key aspects of cooperation and create a platform for exchanging views between experts and think tanks, deepening scientific dialogue and joint initiatives.

At the meeting, the participants of the event got acquainted with a comparative analysis of the CERR in key sectors of the economy, which became the basis for further defining priority areas of partnership.

Following the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Economic Scientific Research Institute under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan and the Center for Economic Research and Reforms under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
