Scientific-practical conference on “Prospects for development of traditional musical art of the peoples of the East” kicks off in Samarkand within the framework of the XII Sharq Taronalari International Music Festival.

At the opening ceremony, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan B.Sayfullayev noted that scientific forums traditionally held within the framework of Sharq Taronalari International Music Festival are of great importance in studying and promotion of history of musical art of the peoples of the East, its traditions.

Issues of formation and development of music of the East, “master – apprentice” tradition, preservation of ancient musical art, are discussed at the conference. It is attended by art historians, composers from the United States, the United Kingdom, China, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Afghanistan, France, Norway, Moldova and Uzbekistan.

Reports, presentations of scientists and researchers will be presented at the conference.
