
The Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met with the Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan, Takashi Hatori, to discuss further development of cooperation in digital technologies, creating high-paying jobs for youth, and expanding opportunities for remote services.
Minister Shermatov highly praised Japan’s experience in developing Uzbekistan’s IT ecosystem and provided insights into ongoing reforms to increase IT service exports, create favorable conditions for international companies, and train qualified specialists. It was noted that Uzbekistan has established all necessary conditions for training youth in high-demand professions, particularly in programming and artificial intelligence.

The parties also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in business process outsourcing. Engaging Uzbekistan youth in remote services in collaboration with leading Japanese companies can enhance their competitiveness in the global labor market. It was proposed to use IT Park infrastructure effectively, expand training programs, and launch joint projects with Japanese companies.

Takashi Hatori emphasized that Japan is interested in developing technological cooperation with Uzbekistan and proposed initiatives to strengthen IT collaboration between the two countries. It was also noted that Japanese companies are increasingly interested in expanding their IT services in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for strengthening cooperation and implementing joint projects.
