In the IBA Champions’ Night in Dubai, UAE, Uzbekistan’s Saidjamshid Jafarov achieved victory. He climbed into the ring to fight a 6-round fight against the winner of the Asian Games and world champion from Japan, Sewonrets Quincy Okazawa.
The tournament was held in an uncompromising struggle. As a result, by unanimous decision of the judges, victory was awarded to Jafarov.
The main fight of the tournament took place between the Russian champion of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Albert Batyrgaziev, competing in the lightweight category (up to 61.2 kg), and Cuba’s Lazaro Alvarez. The fight lasted a complete 10 rounds. As a result, by the judges’ decision, Batyrgaziev won on points.

Albert, who won his 11th victory in the professional ring, received a fee of $300 thousand along with the IBA championship belt. Alvarez, who lost to an opponent for the first time in a fight, received $200 thousand.
Uzbekistan’s eminent boxers Bakhodir Jalolov, Khasanboy Dusmatov, Asadkhuja Muydinkhujayev, accompanied by the Secretary General of Uzbekistan Boxing Federation Shokhid Tillaboyev, watched the fights at the boxing night.
