Presidents of Uzbekistan and Georgia welcome the expansion of multifaceted cooperation
As part of his state visit to Georgia, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili at Orbeliani Palace in Tbilisi.
Issues regarding the expansion of the multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Georgia were discussed.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm hospitality, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that this marks the first state visit by a President of Uzbekistan to Georgia in 23 years.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the growing momentum of contacts among the parliaments, governments, and business communities of the two countries.

Bilateral trade reached $270 million last year, and the number of joint projects and enterprises continues to grow. The first Georgian digital bank, TBC, is operating successfully in Uzbekistan. Direct flights connect Tashkent with Tbilisi and Batumi. This March, the Days of Georgian Culture were held in the capital of Uzbekistan.
Particular attention was given to increasing bilateral trade, including through the effective use of the ports of Poti and Batumi.

The leaders also highlighted opportunities to expand cooperation across pharmaceuticals, the chemical industry, agriculture, transportation, energy, digital technologies, and tourism.
The importance of expanding interregional ties to foster business, tourism, and humanitarian exchanges was emphasized.
Following the meeting, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited President Mikheil Kavelashvili to visit Uzbekistan.
