In connection with May 9 – the Day of Remembrance and Honor – the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Amanbay Orynbaev, visited World War II veterans Qadirbay Narmanov and Mariya Ivanova, as well as Raushan Samarkanova and renowned public and state figure, Hero of Labor Kallybek Kamalov, who selflessly worked on the home front during the war. He presented them with gifts on behalf of the President.

The Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes sincerely congratulated the veterans on the national holiday of May 9 – the Day of Remembrance and Honor – and the 80th anniversary of the great victory over fascism in World War II. He read the President’s holiday message and emphasized that the heroes who made an invaluable contribution to victory and the tireless efforts of our compatriots on the home front will never be forgotten.

In accordance with the instruction of the Head of State, a one-time monetary award of $10,000 was presented to World War II veterans. In addition, monetary prizes and valuable gifts were given to home front veterans by the President, the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Council of Ministers, the Northwestern Military District, the Hokimiyat of Nukus, and several other organizations.

Undoubtedly, the courage and heroism of World War II participants, the dedication of home front veterans who worked tirelessly for victory, and the labor heroes who contributed to the nation’s prosperity and the well-being of its people will continue to serve as an enduring example for future generations.
