On November 22, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received an Italian delegation led by the Governor of the Lombardy region Attilio Fontana.

Prospects of developing Uzbekistan – Italy multifaceted relations, enhancing practical cooperation with Lombardy, one of the leading industrial, intellectual and cultural centers in Italy and the European Union, were discussed at the meeting.

The significance of establishing intensive business contacts and exchanges, implementing joint programs and projects with Italian companies and organizations in trade, investment, industrial technology, agriculture, healthcare and tourism was noted. 

Particular attention was paid to interaction with famous universities of Lombardy in training highly qualified specialists, primarily in engineering.

An agreement has been reached on the adoption of a roadmap to expand mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Italian reion in preparation for highest-level bilateral events.
