Pilgrims from Uzbekistan pray for the well-being of our people
On May 21, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiqnazar, Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan.
The conversation took place on the eve of the sacred holiday of Qurbon Hayit (Eid al-Adha), during the blessed days when our compatriots perform the Hajj rituals.
Through the Mufti, the Head of State sincerely congratulated all Uzbekistan pilgrims staying in the holy city of Makkah on the holiday of Qurbon Hayit. The President wished that their prayers to the Almighty for peace and tranquility in the country, the prosperity of the people, and the happiness and well-being of young people be accepted.
It was noted that in recent years, more than 15,000 of our compatriots have performed Hajj annually in New Uzbekistan. This year, another noble initiative was implemented – for the first time, 100 citizens of the country were sent to perform Hajj at the state’s expense. Among them are labor veterans who have conscientiously served the Motherland and the people, their family members, mahalla activists, representatives of the older generation, and low-income families.
The President asked about the pilgrims’ well-being and mood and inquired about the progress of organizational efforts to create conditions for them to perform religious rituals.
Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiqnazar noted that all necessary conditions are being provided for our pilgrims in the cities of Makkah and Madinah, and that organizational work is being carried out at a high level. It was emphasized that our compatriots, filled with gratitude, are offering prayers to the Almighty in the holy places, asking for peace and protection in the country and for the well-being of the people.
During the conversation, it was noted that the large-scale reforms underway in the country in the religious and educational spheres are having a significant positive impact on people’s spirituality, consciousness, and enlightenment. It was emphasized that the Imam Bukhari and Burhanuddin Marghinani complexes, the Islamic Civilization Center, and other recently commissioned facilities serve to promote the priceless heritage of our great ancestors widely.
The day before, the President adopted a resolution to celebrate Qurbon Hayit in the country in a particularly warm and solemn atmosphere. Charitable events will also be held. In particular, in connection with the holiday, additional funds will be allocated to support socially vulnerable segments of the population, to perform complex surgical operations for more than 10,000 children, and to treat about 2,000 compatriots suffering from serious illnesses. Separate resources are also planned for the improvement of mosques and cemeteries.
The Head of State expressed confidence that, upon returning home, our righteous pilgrims, who have extensive life experience, will serve as an example in spreading enlightened Islam and sound faith among our people, especially young people, and in strengthening harmony and the spiritual environment in mahallas.
Following the conversation, the President conveyed his greetings to all our pilgrims and wished them a safe return home.
