During his visit to Parkent district, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev toured the Kumushkon mahalla to learn about the area’s tourism potential and the operation of local guest houses.

In recent years, tourism has become an essential driver of regional development. The state actively supports initiatives by offering tax and financial incentives and establishing the necessary infrastructure in designated tourist villages. Increasingly, residents are taking advantage of these opportunities to open guest houses.

Tourist traffic has grown especially noticeably in Kumushkon – one of the district’s most scenic locations. Today, over 80 guest houses are operating in the area, hosting around 172,000 tourists annually.

One such successful initiative is the guest house of Olim Yusubov, located near the Parkentsoy stream. His cozy establishment accommodates up to 48 guests, with rooms decorated in a traditional national style. The guest house serves over 2,000 visitors annually.

The President, praising the well-maintained setting and entrepreneurial spirit of residents, emphasized the importance of replicating such initiatives in other tourist-attractive regions of the country. He instructed the relevant agencies to provide comprehensive support to entrepreneurs, both financial and organizational, including the development of complementary services.

It was noted that unlocking the internal potential of mahallas contributes to job creation and increased employment among the population.

What draws tourists to this area is not only the scenic landscape but also cultural landmarks – in particular, the pilgrimage site of Masjidali.

About one thousand guest houses operate across Tashkent region, providing employment for more than 2,500 people.
