In April 2025, Uzbekistan welcomed more than one million foreign tourists for the first time, the Tourism Committee reports.

The increase in tourist arrivals results from a consistent government policy to develop the sector. In particular, ongoing reforms focused on liberalizing the visa regime, expanding international cooperation, and Uzbekistan’s active participation in major global tourism exhibitions and forums have positively influenced the country’s appeal to international visitors.

Strategic measures implemented under presidential decrees and resolutions aimed at attracting investment in the tourism sector and developing tourism infrastructure have also played a significant role in achieving this milestone.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of foreign tourists increased by 361,200 people, or 37.1 percent.

Looking ahead, Uzbekistan plans to develop new tourism areas, including ecological and sustainable tourism, and expand the range of services that meet international standards. These efforts are expected to strengthen the country’s position on the global tourism map.
