Tashkent hosted an international event “Uzbekistan as a New Center of International Business: Opportunities for Foreign Companies”.

The event was attended by the Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov, former President of the Republic of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis, former President of the Republic of Serbia Boris Tadić, former Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union Hamadoun Touré, Strategy and Implementation Advisor of the IDA Seán McEllin, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Technologies Akihiro Sakurai.

The Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, noted that the sector’s development has grown significantly in recent years.

Local and foreign experts addressed the event.

It was also noted that Uzbekistan has the potential to train 300 thousand highly paid young specialists for the international IT market, with the possibility of increasing the export of their services to countries with a declining population.
