On November 8, Abu Dhabi, UAE, hosted a press conference on “Global Media Congress-2023”. At the event, Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, the Director-General of the Emirates News Agency (WAM), noted that the organizers are focusing on media education, with special emphasis on youth participation in the congress.

“We are excited to welcome students from 100 higher education institutions and prepare them to shape the media landscape. We will also take steps towards developing the field with the help of the Innovation Council and the Media Future Labs. In addition, we will study the relationship between media and artificial intelligence”, he said.

The head of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, emphasized that the activity of the World Media Congress being held for the second time has a record level of benefits.

It is worth mentioning that the number of exhibiting companies and brands increased by 33 percent compared to last year and reached 257.

There was also a 22 percent growth in the list of participating countries. 31 of the 172 countries will be participating in the conference for the first time this year. 

The total area of the exhibition increased by 78 percent and exceeded 32,000 square meters.

At the three-day congress, 77 media experts from 18 countries will deliver speeches. 

Several topics, such as innovation and the latest technologies, sports journalism, and the role of education in media development, will be discussed in 36 key sessions.
