Uzbekistan aims to train strong leaders with a voice and advanced skills in solving global problems.

Today, the opening ceremony of UWED MUN 2024 (the Model UN established in Uzbekistan in 1991) was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China Yu Jun, Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme Anas Fayyad Qarman, Head of the Department for Cooperation with the UN and Other International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Laziz Karaev, Advisor to the World Bank for Improving Public Administration projects, new deputy of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan Sherzod Kattakhodjaev, professors, teachers and students of the UWED.

First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, UWED Rector Sodyq Safoev, emphasized the importance of youth leadership in the modern world and called on the participants to actively participate in the discussion of global problems. He also shared his personal experience of participation in international forums and stressed that significant results can be achieved through dialogue and cooperation.
