An international roundtable on “Strengthening cooperation with national human rights institutions in the protection of human rights and freedoms” was held at the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights.
The event was attended by representatives of several agencies and organizations, as well as the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation and Chair of the CIS Human Rights Commission, Tatyana Moskalkova. The discussions focused on expanding international cooperation in the protection of human rights and freedoms, strengthening ties with national human rights institutions, and exchanging experiences.
The Commissioner of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman), Feruza Eshmatova, spoke about the reforms being carried out in the country based on the renewed Constitution, aimed at elevating the value of the individual.
Following the dialogue between the ombudsmen of Uzbekistan and Russia, a roadmap on cooperation for 2025-2026 was signed. This document outlines the conduct of joint monitoring in the field of human rights protection, including raising legal awareness among migrants, joint consideration of citizens’ appeals, expanding information and research exchanges, and cooperation at the international level.
