Currently, there are 4.5 thousand hectares of vineyards in Fergana region, 3.4 thousand of which are located in Oltiariq district.
Grapes are grown on almost every one of the more than 40,000 farms in the district. Preparations for exporting this product are now underway.
Last year, locals shipped 70,000 tons of grapes to the markets of the CIS, Asia, Europe, Arab countries, and the United States.
Research is underway in the vineyards of the Khayrullo Bahrom Boymatov farm to localize high-yielding varieties in demand on the global market. The farm occupies almost 100 hectares and annually produces 3 thousand tons of grapes of 20 varieties. A modern cold storage facility for 2,000 tons has been built next to the vineyards.
The Export Support Center of the Fergana Regional Department for Quarantine and Plant Protection provides significant assistance in organizing the grape export process.
The quarantine inspectors of this center issue phytosanitary certificates.
