Observers for the parliamentary elections arrived in Uzbekistan from Tajikistan. Among them are Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Zarif Alizoda, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda and CEC Chief of Staff Navruz Samadzoda.

The mission of observers from the neighboring country visited the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan, where a meeting was held with the Chairman of the CEC, Mirzo Ulugbek Abdusalomov. Changes in the election legislation of Uzbekistan, the activities of the Central Election Commission, as well as the requirements for the work of the district election commissions of the country during the 2019 parliamentary elections were discussed.

Observers from Tajikistan noted that in Uzbekistan there have been many positive changes in socio-economic life. As a result of the changes, the country’s electoral system has stepped far forward. The most popular change became the abolition of all previously existing election laws and their unification in the Electoral Code. This measure simplifies the perception by ordinary citizens of the rules for holding elections.
