Staff of the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology in Novosibirsk has obtained the antibodies which neutralize the coronavirus.

Staff of the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk has obtained the antibodies which neutralize the coronavirus. The further development of this work will serve as a basis for creation of the specific COVID-19 therapeutic and prevention tools, TASS Russian News Agency reports.

Blood samples of donors who have had COVID-19 were used as well as a unique technology to sort single B-lymphocytes. The antibodies obtained are capable of blocking the interaction of the virus and the АСЕ2 cellular receptor and thus prevent its infiltration of the target cells.
